If your programs follow the rules and are installed properly they should run just fine unless they use any of a few obsolete features.
Without a more specific question it is hard to give a more specific answer.

Re: xp to window 7
Actually you did not explain much at all.
You did not tell us what it is supposed to do.
You did not tell us what controls you use nor what libraries.
You did not tell us if it uses data files.
You did not tell us what problem you are having with it.
All you said is that it is an exe compiled under xp that does not work under 7.
If that is your idea of an explanation then you should really think about that a bit more and then try again to tell us what you have and what you are experiencing.

There should be no issues at all. I've got VB 6 apps running on Windows 8 and even 8.1 without any issue. Is there other files ( except for your exe ) that is needed?

Exe just does not open.
i was thinking that i need to do something special in the application to make it work in Window 7 thats y i asked like this. Im still not sure what more i can explain, I have explained what i think is OK, But im sorry for anything
Hi HanneSThEGreaT

This explains everything if you are using external controls and such.
It won't even work on another Windows XP machine. I'm not sure why you'd expect it to.
Packaging and deployment is a vital part of programming. You can't just shovel EXEs around.
