Block facebook and youtube on certain computers in domain
Been googling but not sure if the methods presented will be able to stop our users so I am asking here if there is a way to completely block those two sites in some computers only in our domain? We've got a Prolink router and looking at the IP/Port Filtering but not sure if I can utilize it for this purpose.
TIA

I don't think you'll get the granularity of control you're looking for with IP Blocking at the Router. You can probably block the site(s) for all users rather than a selected few.
Have you considered implementing a Proxy Server ? I believe you'd get the control you're looking for.
You could 'force' the selected users to go through the Proxy which could filter sites / IP addresses. Having configured the Proxy for the users in question you can set a Domain Policy so they can't change that particular setting without Domain Admin permissions.

Yes, looking at a Proxy Server solution, can you recommend a free one that works? =)

If your users don't have administrative access to their computers, you could always redirect those DNS's to 127.0.0.1 in their hosts file.
If they know an IP address for the sites, they could get there, but if they're not tech savvy, they probably wouldn't know how to get the IP from the DNS.

Will redirecting in the hosts file work for HTTPS?
