Recognizable Rock Songs
I play alot of guitar and I'd like to make some money playing downtown with my accoustic. Here are a few that I think of right off the bat:
- Crazy little thing called love - Queen
- Santeria - Sublime
- Kickapoo - Tenacious D
And then some that aren't really recognizable, but just easy to play and sound ok:
- About a girl - Nirvana
- Free falling - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
I'm not too good at the guitar, but I can pick up just about any song with enough practice. So, could y'all kinda gimme a list of some songs that are easily recognizable being played on just an accoustic guitar. I'm not talking about any Zakk Wylde or Mark Morton stuff, more like background noise you don't have to really pay attention to much.

Re: Recognizable Rock Songs
Van Morrison tunes. My favorite is Into The Mystic, but probably not as recognizable as others, i.e. Crazy Love.

Re: Recognizable Rock Songs
It Stoned Me is a great one but may not be recognisable enough.
I forgot the obvious clasic: Wild Thing. 3 chords, 1 riff, instantly recognisable.

Re: Recognizable Rock Songs
For what it is worth, John Prine (more folk than rock), has some great songs. I especially liked his early work.
- Year Album
1971 John Prine
1972 Diamonds in the Rough
1973 Sweet Revenge
1975 Common Sense
1978 Bruised Orange

If you haven't heard his work I'd pick Bruised Orange as a start.

Re: Recognizable Rock Songs
Just thought of some more:-
Steve Earl : Copperhead Road
REM : Losing My Religion
Bob Dylan (or was it Marley did it first?): Knocking on Heavans Door
Neil Young : Rocking in the Free World
Pogues : Dirty Old Town.
I used to busk with a freind of mine years ago. It was great fun.

It was Bob Dylan...he wrote & performed it in 1973 for the soundtrack of the film Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid.
