Connecting to Mysql
Good afternoon forum,
I have a small program that needs to pull records from a MySQL Database. Every time I need to fill a data-grid I open a connection, Fill data table and then close the connection. The user will then click on a datagrid item and I will again open a connection, query the database for a row, then close the connection. Is this the best way to do it? I mean I would imagine I can pull the whole database in a dataset and just pull the data as I need it locally. Only problem is the database is always under changes. Also the database is very large and would take time to create the data set. Am I doing the right way? I only have 40 users in my Environment.

Re: Connecting to Mysql
Yup... that would be the way to do it... open connection, get the data you need and only the data you need, and close the connection.
