[SERIOUS] Chemistry help - Covalent bond Lewis structures
Please answer my question:
Why is it that sometimes, when I look at a Lewis structure of a molecule or molecular compound, I look over at one element and see that a pair of electrons is drawn in a corner of the symbol, not on the top, the bottom, or a side of the symbol?

Looking at the Wikipedia page:
Lewis structures show each atom and its position in the structure of the molecule using its chemical symbol. Lines are drawn between atoms that are bonded to one another (pairs of dots can be used instead of lines). Excess electrons that form lone pairs are represented as pairs of dots, and are placed next to the atoms.
It's a long time since I studied this, so it's all I could come up with.

I can help with that send me the formula structure and tell me you want it as a mechanism or reaction..
