SQL Server is not free for download.

SQL Server EXPRESS, however, is free for download. I'm not sure why you would want 2005 when you can get the Express versions of much new software, but if it is 2005 that you want, try this link:

sorry but i m confused again

because the link you give above for SQLEXPR.EXE having file size only 53.5 MB

but in my desktop (32bit os) sql server size is approx 1 gb .. why size is too less the link you posted

if you can give latest version .. will be perfect

Re: can i get sql server ? :)

    I can't give anything....Microsoft can.

The size difference is because you are looking at the free, Express version and comparing it to the full, commerical, version of SQL Server. It isn't has big as the real version and therefore, it is not as powerful as the real version, so it is smaller. If you want the real version of SQL Server you will have to buy it.

It looks like you already have SQL Server 2008. Why are you futzing around with the Express version of 2005

Click on the download link next to SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe

that should give you the Express 64 bit version.

If you want to buy the full version: http://emea.microsoftstore.com/UK/en...d-64-Bit-5-CAL

This problem is that that Express version doesn't state it supports Windows 7 Home Basic

I think CatchItBaby will need to upgrade to a full version of Windows 7

Re: can i get sql server ? :)

That isn't surprising.... the "Overview" section at the top of that download page is fairly short, and has only a few bolded items, including this one:
Management tools are not included in this download. For SQL Server Express with Management Tools, please download Microsoft SQL Server Express with Management Tools .

Erm... the message tells you how to solve the problem.

Run the program, then install service pack 1 or later.
