Can I develop for older Crystal Reports with Visual Studio 2010?
I have a Windows 7 pc with Visual Studio 2010 and have a client that asked to develop an app that I can query their SQL Server 2005 db which works fine. They then wanted to print using their Crystal reports. Well, I installed the SAP Crystal Reports 4 found in VS 2010 and got it working on my pc. I then tried to run on their server and found out they are using Windows Server 2003 SB SP2, Framework v2/v3, With the following programs: Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86), Crystal Reports XI R2 .Net 3.0 Runtime (03_05_2008), Epicor Crystal Reports XI R2 Runtime.
Are their old Crystal Reports that work with Visual Studio 2010? Any ideas where I start?
Thanks.

Google! Where else? In theory at least, it should be more than possible to work with the older versions as they are at least .Net. So do an appropriate date range search for tutorials and you'll be amazed how many there are kicking about from the first half of the last decade! I'm not saying there won't be the odd problem along the way but it can be done.
Or, of course, you could always throw the temperamental developer hissy fit and stomp around demanding an upgrade!
