It's about time they upgraded though, the v4x supports quite a few more things & it doesn't look 1990's anymore.

Oh god! You don't love it? We must do something about it then. I'm asking all administrators to please call luca90 so he can give you exact drawings of how he wants the forum to look. While doing so, he should get a foot massage as well. Or is the foot massage only for members that have been registered since 2004 and earlier? I keep forgetting.
I'm a bit amused, or concerned, about the comments about the forum not looking so dated anymore. Perhaps I am just dated, but I can't really tell modern from old, except that modern seems to be a movement towards pastel and less distinct colors. If this trend continues, all web pages will be a uniform light gray. At that point....we will have arrived.

I think we have to change our avatars to met that new color scheme, it looks like we need some more shades of grey (wasn't that a song from??).

Wait, I'm too old to hurry!
No, we'll have arrived when the backgrounds, text, and icons are all colored RGB 808080 and the text is 1 pt high with 100 pts of line leading.
Frankly I think it sucks rocks, mostly for the colors, fonts, and layout. But reserver response seems slow, it sends huge pages, and they render slowly.
One thing is a positive change though, at least since Day One: the font size and leading seems improved.
Funny how they've just moved to the washed-out Win7 look as Win8's new flat-and-saturated look is nearing release.

I think the forcolor of the thread titles in when viewing a subforum or the return from a search could be a darker shade of blue. It's a little difficult to see which threads have been read and which ones haven't because the only difference is bold text. Other than that, I like this color scheme a lot more than the old 3x version.
I still don't understand dilettante's issues are with pastel colors in win7, it's a lot more clear and a whole lot crisper than Vista ever was.
I can't comment on Win8 as I've only tinkered with the beta 1 time for 10 minutes, but off the bat those metro tiles are gawdy and reminds me of Windows 3.11 back in '86, putting 27 years of desktop design out the window. Maybe by Win8 RTM they'll have added a nice aero effect to it and everything will look much nicer, also hopefully the windows menu (start menu) will have been put back in.

One thing that I have noted about the change is that I have a hard time seeing the difference between the grey 'visited' icons and the gray-blue 'unvisited' icons. If things become any less distinct, we won't have any differences at all.

The new pastel style rep gems look like grandma's teeth, all different sizes and different distance one each other, but they are all 8x10 pixel images so it must be an optical illusion.
I thought I'm in a wrong page then I realize some old faces is still here. Love the look by the way.
Looks smart, but why is it so sloOoOOooOOoow? I don't remember it taking so long with the old look.
I have no problems with other websites. Win 7 here, FF v13
well i prefere that they make themes
I pretty much care about the content on the site. That's the reason I keep visiting. As long as the website remains usable, I don't care much for the look.
Everything that has a computer in will fail. Everything in your life, from a watch to a car to, you know, a radio, to an iPhone, it will fail if it has a computer in it. They should kill the people who made those things.- 'Woz'
