IRC clients and MDI - Microsoft moving away from MDI?
Hi, i was just wondering what other options we have. MDI seems to be main feature most clients have.Would you use one if building an irc client? I started off with out one. Half way threw decided to start using one. Now not so sure it's a good idea. What to you lot think

Most IRC clients that I've ever seen use MDI to separate the different channels you are connected to. How would you handle that without MDI?

MDI can come in different forms. Apps like IE and mirc use tabbed windows for example rather than the child windows the float about the place. Docking is another feature. I actually use both in my app from a set of tools from Syncfusion, although I have seen a sample version of the docked system in codeproject some time back.
