    Resolved [RESOLVED] Outlook not sending/receiving

    My emails are not sending an receiving. The problem is temporarily resolved when I close Outlook, open the task manager and end the process "OUTLOOK.EXE" then restart Outlook. However, it just keeps recurring and I have to keep repeating the above procedure. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how it can be resolved?

    Which version of Outlook are you using? Have you checked/downloaded Microsoft updates?

    I am running Outlook 2007 and automatic updates are switched on.

    Stupid question but have you tried clicking the send/receive button? If you enabled the sending/receiving of email on the close of outlook you don't need to do this.

    Yes I have tried clicking the send/receive button but it doesn't work.

    Did you install any updates before you had problems? If so one or more of them might be the cause of the problem. What add-ins for Outlook do you have installed (if any)? Have you run Office Diagnostics?

    Is there an email with a huge attachment in your Outbox?

    your in/out boxes may have reached their limit. Another thing to look for is if you're working in offline mode... you can find it under the File menu... if it reads "Work Offline" ... then it's something else. But if it says anything else but that... try resetting it to back online...

    I resolved the issue. I removed my MSN account from the accounts to check on send/receive and it fixed the problem.

    I have installed onto a new PC and this problem is happening again. Only this time, I have removed the hotmail account from the send/receive list but it is still receiving my hotmail despite this and emails are not sending from my outbox. The problem is resolved when I completely remove the hotmail account.
