When do you start listening to Christmas music?
I guess I kind of started now. I've been playing "The Little Drummer Boy" and "Holly Jolly Christmas" on the piano. KOIT, who proclaims itself to be the best Christmas music station in San Francisco, might start November 18th. A local church choir started practicing for a Christmas thing last month.

Not until after Thanksgiving. It made me really sad to see christmas ads being sent out before halloween had even happened.
Where I'm from we only have one bit of advice for new comers: "If you hear banjos, turn and run".

Same here... I refuse to listen to any station that plays Christmas music this early... heck... it chafes me that WalMart starts putting up their stuff in September.... SEPTEMBER! School has just barely started for crying out loud. Anyways I don't start listening to Christmas music until the Sat after Thanksgiving.

Re: When do you start listening to Christmas music?
When ever a Christmas song comes on the radio, regardless of the time of year, I switch the channel.
Each year I take every Christmas album we have and hide them. My wife always finds them but I never tell her where they are hidden. That ususally buys me a couple of extra weeks a year.
One year she never did find them and went out and bought all new ones and played them 24x7 just to tick me off.
I hate this time of year...

Hate is a strong word for me. I have a 10 year old daughter & X-mas is still enjoyable, if for only that reason alone. But I'm not a religious person, nor do I have a large family or other relatives living anywhere near me. So other than seeing my daughter enjoy the couple weeks of that holiday season, my only other enjoyment is not having to work that one day in December. I do not mind listening to the songs on the morning of Christmas & possibly the evening prior; other than that I can find myself annoyed

I liked Reindeer Games more. For laughs, two of my favorites are Scrooged and Trapped in Paradise

I like Christmas comedy movies. I also like listening to the holiday album from "Straight No Chaser." I have it on my iPhone.

Re: When do you start listening to Christmas music?
I just added a poll to the thread. Also, I hear that radio stations are starting to play Christmas music because 1) a lot of people like holiday music and 2) advertisers want them to, because the stations attract a younger demographic. More kids wanting stuff from the ads = more parents spending money = big bucks for the advertisers.

Re: When do you start listening to Christmas music?
Two local radio stations started playing Christmas music 24/7 on the weekend following Halloween. I refuse to do any Christmas related stuff (aside from complaining about it) until the weekend following Thanksgiving.
