Small Program - Key Saver
I made this program for myself as I have a lot of product keys for programs and games and thought I'd share it. It stores product keys in an encrypted file and can auto insert keys into applications so you don't have to type them out.
Note:
This is NOT a key generator.
It is NOT a key logger, if you don't believe me then don't use it.
It creates 2 files, one is named "ProData.cdh" and it is placed in C:\ by default. You can change this location in the application. The second file is "Settings" and it is placed in C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Key_Saver.
.NET framework 4.0 is needed
Key Saver 1.0.4

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Where should I unzip the program to if that is the cause?
Edit:
Never mind! I solved the problem. Choosing the program then "Run as administrator" all the program to log-in without problems.
One thing I notice is that the controls could be sized better as to make it easier for a user to read. The text on some of the controls is hard to read because of control overlapping.

Re: Small Program - Key Saver
Hmmm that's good to know. Are you using Vista, Win7, or XP? Also which controls are overlapping?

Re: Small Program - Key Saver
I'm using Vista, I haven't tried it on Win 7 yet. The overlapping occurs on the "add application" screen. Also, you program keeps freezing when trying to change the program settings.

Re: Small Program - Key Saver
I haven't tested it on vista as I don't have a machine that doesn't have Windows 7. Which controls are overlapping and what settings does it stall at? When changing the file directory it moves the file to the new location when selected, maybe I should have it do this when the program closes?
I uploaded a new version of the program. I changed some of the menu problems and I added a window finder tool when adding an "auto input". Its kind of like Spy++.
Key Saver 1.0.2
Here is what the add application form looks like for me:

Re: Small Program - Key Saver
No I still have the same size problem. I also now receive an unhandled exception error when submitting the data on the "Add Auto Input" form.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Oh, that's because you must not have entered a value in one of the boxes. I just added a check for those boxes.

You really need to fix the shutdown function because when you close the program it is still in memory and being used by Windows.

Re: Small Program - Key Saver
It seems when you click the 'X' in the top right it didn't close the actually process. Now if you click the 'X' it will return to the Main Menu, and if you click Exit from the File menu it will close the program.
Seems there were a lot more problems with this program than I thought.
