It was an odd day yesterday

I came across this article that I thought was sort of interesting.

Calif. man celebrates 7/9/11 as 'Odd Day'

7/9/11 is one of only six dates this century that features three consecutive odd numbers. Next up, 9/11/13.
After 11/13/15 we'll have to wait until next century before we have another date with 3 consecutive odd numbers.

That only works if you use the mm/dd/yy format. A lot of the world uses dd/mm/yy.

Sounds like numerology mangling. Just like stats. If something doesn't fit the way one wants, no problem, tweak the source data. Otherwise, Europe and other m/d/y countries stop counting after 2013!

Yup, based on this we can formulate several odd days http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_format_by_country

In dd/mm/yy format. 1/3/05, 3/5/07, 5/7/09, 7/9/11 and 9/11/13 and that would be it since there are no dates with month greater than 11. So you'd have fewer dates using this format and the same consecutive numbers would of course represent different days since it's a different format. So using dd/mm/yy format after 9/11/13 you wouldn't have another date with 3 consecutive odd numbers until next century. But perhaps there is some calendar system that has more than 12 months in a year so there would be for that system.

There's no need to go that far.

Lunar based calendars (for example: The Hindu calendar) has 13 months in a year every now and then.

Some people really have way too much time on their hands.

By the way, in 2013, won't there be a 7/9/13?

Oh wait, I forgot, the world is coming to an end in 2012. (Which figures, by the way...the first year I'm eligible for retirement and the whole flippin' world ends...now thats enought to give a guy a complex )

The Chicago Cubs baseball team will win the World Series next season as predicted by the Mayans. The Mayans predicted it, so it must be true.

Common knowledge says that when Cubbies win that series, the world will end. So, via interpolation/extrapolation, the Mayans predicted the Cubs winning the World Series next year. Go Cubs!

Yes, the above was an attempt at humor

    Which part?

The part about the world coming to an end, or the part about the *snort* *giggle* cubbies winning the world series?

In 7/9/13 the 13 wouldn't be consecutive after 9. 7/9/11 would be consecutive odd numbers.
