(solved)beginner questions about WCF (very general)
I am new to this WCF. I must admit I could not find much VB.net stuff on this topic. Even the sticky here links to stuff in C#. One day i think I am going to have to learn it as VB seems to be dying out.
I have a SQL Server - I want to read and write to it from a web service.
I am actually learning iphone development and i know I need to use a webservice - I think the best would be with json responses.
What do I need to create in WCF - a service application or a console app?
The beginner tutorials or MSDN Walkthough use a console app. Now I know this is a really dumb question but it produces a console window. So how do I deploy this at the end of the day on my computer - where do i put it - in IIS or where. I am just testing at the moment so I am using an XP Pro as my "server" that has Sql Server on it.
