[RESOLVED] Remove invalid entries from uninstall list
Hi,
What is a good program that will allow me to remove invalid program listings from the add/remove programs list in Vista/Win7?
I have at least one invalid entry in the program list because at some point the files associated with a program I created were deleted without uninstalling them via the normal methods. I can't find the initial install package I created (I think I deleted it) and therefore I can't reinstall the program in-order to get a hold of the uninstall.log to try and uninstall the program correctly.
Thanks,
Nightwalker
Edit:
I used to use Registry Mechanic 3.0 several years ago when you had it. However, version 3.0 doesn't work on Vista and Win7 and I would rather try free software if possible first before purchasing software to do the same job.

Re: Remove invalid entries from uninstall list
It doesn't seem that'd it be difficult to create such a program. I'm not aware of any, but here's a kb article on how to do it manually.
Software I use and highly recommend: Opera, Miranda IM, Peerblock, Winamp, Unlocker Assistant, JoyToKey, Virtual CloneDrive, Secunia PSI, ExplorerXP, GOM Player, Real Alternative, Quicktime Alternative,Sumatra PDF, and non-freeware: Photoshop and VB6().
My codebank: AllRGB, Rounded Rectangle(math), Binary Server, Buddy Paint, LoadPictureGDI+, System GUID/Volume Serial, HexToAsc, List all processes and their paths, quasiString matching
Strings(search, extraction, retrieval etc): Retrieve BBCode Link from HTML, RemoveBetween ()'s, strFindBetween(str1,str2), Insert text in HTML, HTML - GetSpanByID

Try CCleaner. It's free and works very well.

Re: Remove invalid entries from uninstall list
Thanks! My dad says he uses WinOptimizer from Ashampoo which, isn't free but he already paid for the license so if CCleaner or removing it manually doesn't work I can't always use that.
Edit:
After following the instructions to from the program manually I finally managed to locate the program in the registry and delete the entry.

Re: [RESOLVED] Remove invalid entries from uninstall list
i had an odd error once where the add/remove programs looked empty completey. However for whatever reason it was all scrolled off the bottom. I never did find what caused that.
