Strangest human invention?
What do you think? I would say the toilet. Don't ask.

Re: Strangest human invention?
I have to ask. That one is so valuable that it was invented several different times in several different ways. Why is it strange?
I would say that some of the social customs surrounding sx are the strangest, especially our perverse fear of it. After all, it is equated with evil at the root of christianity, and is forbidden by nearly every fundamentalist form of every faith.

The toilet. Well, for one, who came up with this whole inefficient sewage system, and how could anybody coordinate all that? It's just strange, that's all.
(Cut me some slack! It's hard to come up with strange stuff. And that is just strange to me.)

Dancing.
The concept of dancing in order to meet and socialize with other people.
Dance competitions.
Dancing... in general, it's boring, unappealing, ungraceful.
Quite possibly one of the most overrated 'things' ever created. And annoying.

I beg to differ. The problems are not caused by money, they are caused by the lack of or the greed for it.

In other words, the problems were, and are, created by humans...but, given the track record duly recorded in this thread, what could you really expect out of us anyway?

Greed is one of humanities greatest downfalls, and it goes back countless thousands of years. What I hate is all the ways we have come up with to manipulate its use. I watched a documentary on CNBC last week called, "House Of Cards". Shameful is an understatement. Criminal would be much better. I fear it will be out demise as a society.

Re: Strangest human invention?
The invention of money is not strange. If you know the history of the barter system, you'll know why money was invented and why it is important.
Economics on the other hand. Now that's just evil.
