[RESOLVED] SQL server 2008 express installation failure

i am installing SQL server 2008 express
on a winXP machine + SP3 + PowerShell

but i am getting error

With so little information, I would guess that you're trying to install to a compressed folder and that isn't supported. I'm quite sure that there's more information available to you than you've provided to us though.
