Re: Why soccer (football) sucks.
I watched a match a few days ago. It was really boring. Why do footballers fake injuries so much?

Re: Why soccer (football) sucks.
The reason why it's boring, is because teams do not play to win, but they play not to lose. Recently a lot of teams have noticed that playing defensive/ugly football generally achieves a better result than playing offensive/beautiful football. Some of the top teams play great football and then sooner or later they play against a weaker opponent, that is smarter, plays defensive and uses counter tactics and the top team loses. That's why some of the top teams now start playing defensive football as well, because it gives them a bigger chance of winning.
The reason why players fake injuries so much, is because that's a way to win the game. If players gets knocked down, then they'll automatically squeal like a pig, even if they weren't touched, which often results in the other player getting a yellow card. Do the 'trick' twice with the same player and he gets sent off with a red card.
10-20 years ago when a striker and goalkeeper would go for the ball and the goalkeeper reached the ball first, then the striker would jump over the goalkeeper. Nowadays, a striker will (9 out of 10 times) run into the goalkeeper and drop himself, to make it look like the goalkeeper took him down.
Here's a good example from the Netherlands-Slovakia match. Striker Vitek moved his legg to the right, in order to touch the goal keeper and then dropped himself.

Football is not just football anymore, it's a matter of cheating and screwing your opponents as much as possible.
