    Old news is old.

Their first album should have been called "The Best of Willie Dixon."

You people are no longer alive for me .... go back to the evils of Celine Dion immediatly and never post in a Led Zep thread again.

So have 90% of every other top 20 rock band over the last 60 years.

Haven't finished listenng to it yet but I'm not entirely convinced. I'm Gonna Leave You and Dazed and Confused have a couple of the same lyrics ('I'm gonna leave you baby, when summer comes' and 'Dazed and Confused') but that doesn't really constitute plagurism and the melodies are totally different. After that they start saying that they've nicked riffs etc. but they sound substantially different to me. The Stairway to Heaven one in particular is a completely different chord progression. It's in the same minor key and the finger picking sequence is the same so you get a very similar feel but the chord progression isn't even close. For me I'd call this influence rather than plagurism but I guess I'd have to listen alot closer before I was 100% convinced either way.

Also, it's actually quite easy to acidentally rewrite someone elses song. I've written both Layla and Kaylie without actually realising it until afterwards. You throw a few chords together and think "hey that sounds really cool" and it's only later when someone says "hey, you know that sounds a bit like <whatever>" that you go back and listen to it and realise just how similar it is. I guess there's basically a finite number of chord progressions and, when you come across one that works, it's usually the case that someone else already did it. Hell, pretty much the whole of blues shares the same 12 bar progression.

Also, what I gathered from that recording is about only a handful of songs, so I would call it "most of their music".

That album could have been the best of "Willie Wonka" and I still would be bought it and listened until I wore it out and needed a new copy.

IMHO, people are always looking for ways to sue people, especially famouse ones.

I am / was / always will be a Led Zeppelin fan, and I don't care about plagiarism claims
