Withdrawn - Giving away some programming books
No response at all in a day and a half... not going to send them out now, thanks anyway.
Going to try and see if the local college wants them.
Bonjour
I've got lots of sins (mostly bad code) to make up for so I can get into heaven, therefore I am giving away three programming books, I don't want paying for the books themselves, just some £££ to cover postage.
Rules
* I will post to the UK only
* First come first serve by private message
* I will tell you how much I spent shipping them, you pay via PayPal gift (you take hit for fee)
I would like them to go to a good home, someone who will actually use them, so please just don't ask for them and then not use them or worse flog them on eBay.
Here we go:
#1 - Visual Basic in easy steps
#2 - Sams, Teach Yourself Visual Basic in 21 Days.
#3 - Step by Step, Microsoft Access 2003 (no CD)
Good luck!

Re: Giving away some programming books
I probably have some programming Windows95 and DOS graphics books you could add to your collection.

Isn't that kind of...going against what he's wanting to do?

I don't do any Windows programming any more and have these books collecting dust, just trying to help someone else out, perhaps a beginner in college.

I had the same problem, so I gave the books to charity. They either threw them out, burned them for heat, or used them to prop up the furniture, as they were even more dated than the ones you are offering.
The problem with programming books is that very few of them are of any use in a couple years as the technology changes.

Re: Giving away some programming books
Shaggy I would completely agree if there wasn't still such an interest in V_B_6 as a learning language (well, at least in the sector I came from).
Perhaps if no one takes me up on my offer I can take them back into my college (just down the road) for their students.
Edit: Grrrr, bloody pop-up things!

Damn you! My thickwire token ring network has just gone down again through lack of spares!
I don't live here any more.
