Weird windows...
Hiya,
Think this is the place to put this. My Windows Vista has been playing up lately but I can't see why so I thought I'd ask if anyone has come across this...
Play a movie, it shrinks into a window as though I alt+tabbed to windows.
Whilst playing full on games does the same. Except I have a tendancy to die as the game continues playing even though I am not in it... Not very useful when you are sneaking through the boneyard in Call of Duty, modern warfare 2.
I have avg and its running, but a scan revealed nothing. Has anyone had this problem?
Feeling like a fly on the inside of a closed window (Thunk!)
If I post a lot, it is because I am bored at work! ;D Or stuck...

Re: Weird windows...
Have you tried to swap your display card with another display card and see if the problem continues?

Re: Weird windows...
I'm not sure about your description, but is it just reducing all open windows into something like an oversized thumbnail? I've run into that plenty, of late, and it's real annoying. Real obvious what the problem is, too, as I switched mice, and the problem is what happens when I accidentally click the mouse wheel. That can be mapped to lots of things, but by default, it appears to be mapped to thumnailing the windows.
My usual boring signature: Nothing

Shaggy Hiker:
Hi, almost sounds like the thumbnail thing, except I'm watching a dvd, on windows media player and not touching the mouse.
During games (such as the call of duty) I'm using the mouse, but not really touching the middle button.

Swapping the display card? you mean the graphics card?
Cant afford another one of those to swap n try. Dont see why that would act like a minimise on the full game, or on windows media, take it from full screen to windowed tho...?
Mendhak:
Thanks for moving
