What did you buy this holiday?
For myself: I bought a Thermawrap jacket. This is filled with a synthetic material that lets me stay warm in freezing temperatures.
For friends: I bought a home depot gift card.
For mom: I bought a solid gold coin.
Lets hear about your shopping list.

Re: What did you buy this holiday?
I always remember it as words like dinner and dessert always have the double letters, versus diner and desert.
I had an english teacher from like 4th or 5th grade say something like "what do you want more of, dessert, or to be in a desert? well the one you want more of has the double letters". It was probably because I was young, but for some reason it just stuck, and I can't forget that if I wanted to. These days I am hard pressed to remember what I had for breakfast...

My wife and I bought ourselves a 42 inch flat screen HD tv. We are going to put a tag on it that says "To Mom and Dad from your Favorite Child" and then sit back and watch the confusion.LOL

Yeah, holidays are bad
Ppl goes to shopping, spending the hard bucks for things they can buy all the day in the whole year, but no, its a Holi-day not a simple day, lets buy a twice that big TV, and eat twice as much cookies at granny then say "wow its a nice holiday". But its a simple day just like all others.
However, grannys cookies are the best! Maybe this one is the only exception i love in holidays.

Coach
Wifey and I are looking at a 40-42 inch lcd too.
We like the Samsung 550 series. What kind did you get?
For the kid we are getting him an awful lot of molded plastic
in the shape of various "action" figures and unidentifiable things from Japan.

How cold does it get in the Philipines? I wouldn't think a jacket was ever necessary.

In the Philippines, I never had any need for clothes thicker than 1/4 cm(those were the days). However, I'm not there right now and it's 3C as of the moment gets lower in the evenings. Freezing cold outside so I had to buy a 2-inch thick long winter jacket with a hood that can accomodate my big head.
Paid £88 for it.
I'm really really sad about these spendings.

Hugs involve a considerable expenditure of energy. Energy expenditure is what causes global warming. We'd all be better off without hugs.

Bah, Humbug.
Alien Santa will provide.
And Mendhak: I shudder to think what type of hug requires "a considerable expenditure of energy". But I'm glad to see you're being Green. And amphibious.

'Hugs' from frogs DO involve a considerable expenditure of energy, and can even jepordize the survival of the frog because of the sizeable cost.
