I just had a first look at VB7 today.
It looks promising, but I had a little test. I made a simple program with just 1 form and a treeview. The exe was 7 KB smaal, so that was OK. But the little sucker appeared to use almost 12 MB of memory, while a similar executable made with VB6 'only' uses 2.7 MB of memory.
Do you think this excessive memor usage is for the beta version only, or will the retail version use this much memory too?

Is it possible for others to download VB.NET also or are you just a Beta tester?

If possible, will you allow me to download it as well?
Perhaps icq it to me? Or give me the adress of an FTP server where I can get it.
If not, no biggie, but I'd really like a sneak preview!
mail me at gerco@gdries.com if you have anything to share.
Thanks,
Gerco.

If you have a MSDN universal subscription, you can download it. But for all of us who haven't, you can order it for $15.99 S&H from :
