    Cross tab Reports

I have not worked in Crystal since 8 came out years ago. I am way behind the ball on a project I was assigned. I took the project because I thought it was an excel report then I was told I had to create the report in crystal then export it to Excel.

I am trying to make a cross tab report that can be used for both a weekly view and/or a Monthly rolling year comparision to last year. There are two levels of grouping. I want the user to be able to chose Monthly or Weekly. Input date ranges. Chose location (1 or many multi select) Column grouping is for monthly, current year/previous yearly month, and by a type (there are 4)

Weekly is just Monday thru Sunday based on date ranges provided

I have no books, and the company will not pay for a refresher course.

I am hoping that someone can point me to some answers.

    1) Some good free tutorials (I went to several links I found in the forum but wasn't successful)

    2) Maybe some examples or sample reports

    3) I do not need .net help for crystal. The report has to be built in crystal XI and then it is ran by the user from within another application or sceduled via Business Objects.

    Thanks,

    Re: Cross tab Reports

I wish it did, my problem is that I do not need any vb/.net help pertaining to crystal. in fact I think it would be easier to build this report via a vb app, but then I would have just build an excel report that way and ignored crystal all together, it isnt like crystal exports cleanly to excel. All the help I am finding has to do with vb and crystal not just crystal.

    Thanks for the input though.

    Re: Cross tab Reports

I am looking to create a report that looks like this

    2007 2008
    MAY MAY
Silver Gold Bronze Silver Gold Bronze

    Item
    Place
    Place2
    Place3

The columns would repeat across page for the entire entered data range by month.

Anyone have any guidance to offer?
