control fan speed of HP Proliant DL320 G2 with vb
hello,
how would i control the fan speed of a HP Proliant DL320 G2 with visual basic? it would be cool if i could speed up the fan and slow it down based on the heat of the processor.

The assumption that there is something monitoring the heat, and there the fan speed is controllable by the computer. Have you established those to factors yet?

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=521911 talks about controlling the fan speed but i dont really know about the processor heat but all i really want is to be able to knock back the fan speed from 100% to maybe 70% or 80%.

If you have an MSI motherboard you should be able to dl CoreCenter which will do that for you. Otherwise you'd need to find some APIs that would allow you to control the cooler.
