If your using the winsock ocx then the computer will need the vb6 runtimes installed if not already installed.
the Winsock ocx doesnt ship with windows normally. Or at least it never used too

Creating an installer package for your program using the package and deployment tool with include the winsock and any other controls your application needs.
The package and deployment tool can be found on the start bar under
Start --> Program --> Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 --> Microsoft Visual Studio Tools --> Package And Deployment Wizard
Hope that helps

heh you people are too advanced to understand what he or she is saying. no you do not need winsock winsock is used to transfer data (text numbers etc.) from a client to server. you do not need winsock to access internet you just need to type in and then make code to pause the site to you and play and etc. but it would be easyer to look up on youtube a tutorial on how to open soundfiles in a medial player. hope this helps
