    how to show icons of files in a listview

    Hi
    I'm Using visualbasic.net

    I need to show the Icons of files in a listview but the files are not on my hard drive. I basically load the files from a database

    Then they aren't actually files. They are just data. Files are formatted chunks of data in the file system. What you could do is save the data to the Temp directory and then call Icon.ExtractAssociatedIcon to get the file's icon. That will get icon's embedded in executables and also get the system icon's for data files based on the extension.
