    connecting controller to computer

i was wondering how i could connect my xbox 360 controller so that when it is plugged into my usb port i could make a program that can use the input from the controller. like for example if i clicked A on my controller i want to be able to run some code i have written is there a built in feature in VB.net for this or do i have to write it all myself?

You can certainly do it, but you need to use DirectX with your vb.net. Maybe you can do it without it, but it's probably better to just use DirectX.

Assuming that your controller will show up in windows as a regular DirectX controller:

I use my Xbox 360 controller to run around in Quake 3 servers sometimes. Theres drivers for it.. and no doubt some APIs.
