Icon size for 'Start'

My app's form icon has several sizes, the largest one is 256^2.
Looks pretty enough for the link on the Desktop.

Win8 ++
When I stick the link to start, a small icon is used on the much larger tile.

What do I have to do to fill the tile completely?

I used an installer(InnoSetup) to set the shortcut icon, but it's not as big as yours.

Did you try setting up a resource file with a suitable icon with the name "AAA" as described in that article? I don't have Windows 8 for testing, but Windows 10 seems to pick the right icon for my app where I've done that.

Sure.
And I get the icon OK.
On other tiles it is the same as with my icon.
Ok so far, Windows decides.

But there seems to be a possibility to use an icon on the tile that fills the whole tile.
That's what I want.
