Re: Where is Autoexec.bat
If you opened the file (AUTOEXEC.NT) you will find :
REM AUTOEXEC.BAT is not used to initialize the MS-DOS environment.
REM AUTOEXEC.NT is used to initialize the MS-DOS environment unless a
REM different startup file is specified in an application's PIF.
I guess that this mean that the file (AUTOEXEC.BAT) not needed anymore for NT based systems.
& now the question is why you want it in WinXP ?
Edit : Open it by Notepad or any hex editor.

If you mean an Environmental Variable then you can add and set it via ...
Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced tab > Environment Variables button.
