    Serious Question & Response

So uh, which of these responses do you find more terrifying?

You ask: Will you marry me?

    He/She answers:
    • Yes
    • No
    • I need to think about it

The last one freaks me out, cuz then you have that whole waiting period of uncertainty. I'm sure I'd be freaking out with what-ifs.

No idea, traditionally... That's the responsibility of the bride's side. There are exceptions (it's not as "traditional" as it once was, but some people still beleive it).

As far as the response; "let me think about it" isn't all that bad. It's deffinitely better then a Yes that had a 3 second precurse of "umm." LMTAI could be used for a few reasons besides delaying a "no."
    1) She might not think you're serious and wants to give you time to change your mind.
    2) She earnestly wants to think about it. Maybe the thought hadn't been in her mind as much as yours. Not that that's a bad sign, but maybe she just hadn't given it much thought yet.

If you get a LMTAI, I wouldn't get down about it. Chances are, she wants to give it some time of her seeing you "in that light." If you're moping around because you think a "no" is right around the corner, then it probably is.

It'd have to be "Are you serious?" answer with that weird/strange/rejectful /"how did you even think that you deserve me" expression on his/her face ....

    Re: Serious Question & Response

    Scariest answer... "Yes"

wedding costs.... hmm well it really depends on a lot of factors

(My wife runs her own business, doing wedding flowers)

How many people in are you inviting to the wedding?
How many people are in the wedding party?
    Flowers?
    RIngs?
    Wedding Dress - Designer Name?
    Tux - rental? Purchase?
    Location of Reception?
    Dj? Band?

    Typical average:

    Wedding Dress - $1500
    Flowers - $1500
    Tux - $100
    Wedding Bands - $800 - $1000
    Dj - $400
    Band - $800
    Now add 150 Guests:
    Avg: $30 / person
    Thats: $4500

    your up to $9000

and thats just and avg ball park figure....
a Wedding can easily hit $20K... EASILY

(and typically being up to the brides family does not happen that often anymore, so dont count on that)

Any man/woman that actually asks the question would/should know the answer in advance...

If the relationship is solid and you both are happy and dedicated to each other, then the answer should be obvious when the question is asked.

If the answer is the last one, you might as well wait another year. No need to rush into something she's not sure about.

Of course it all depends on the wedding... but when my two sisters got married, the weddings ranged from about 10-12,000 bucks each... and that wasn't being tooo extravagant...

And if you ever wanted a motorcycle, get it before you're married. Alot of people fall into this trap. If you don't have a bike by the time you're married, you never will (atleast not until your mid-life crisis and even that's a big if. My dad ended up with a miata)...

Those are the first funds to get classified as "are you sure that's a good 'family' purchase?" Innocent and sincere enough at first, but basically you'll be guilted into giving up on that. Where does the money go you ask?

"...Well, what about using some of it for our wedding? And if we have some left over, maybe a honeymoon at The Bridges in Madison County?"

that is true unless she also likes bikes.. or whatever it is that u want.

U need to marry a PC Gaming, Console Gaming, Stereophile, bike loving, hot rod craving, will try anything once, woman. then u might be able to get what u want

Whoa, no way! I haven't even been dating for fear that someone might try and corner me.

I'm learning by watching all my friends get married and have kids. Like the old saying goes, it's only funny when it isn't happening to you.
