webcam to seconed PC

I have two PC linked together directly is it possible to view the webcam on the first pc with the seconed PC?

A couple of ways I can think of off the top of my head:

VNC (or Remote Console).
Run a Web server on the computer the camera is connected to and view it in a browser on the second computer.

(What's the hardware interface between the camera and the computer? There may be other ways. If it's USB, what does the camera appear as?)

Al42 its just a USB cam

Then either VNC or a Web server. Connecting to the USB port on another computer is a bit difficult.
