VBF Movie Awards...
Okay as the normal Academy Awards are too politically motivated for my tastes I thought of creating this thread to allow us to express our opinions on who should win the categories for the past 12 months. They do NOT have to be from the Academy's list but can be anything you wish
The categories are:
Best Actress
Best Actor
Best Supporting Actor
Best supporting Actress
Best Director
Best Picture
Best Animated Film
Best Visual Effects
Lifetime Achievement Award

Isn't it strange how Batman Begins only appears in one minor category?

Re: VBF Movie Awards...
Ever since "Apollo 13" didn't win the award for best movie back then, I haven't thought much of the choices and picks of the Oscars. It is quite like the Nobel Peace Prize... politically motivated rather than by merit.
In fact, it's almost formulaic, how to win an Oscar.
Directors: Make a movie that covers a historic event that nobody else has covered yet. If it has been covered, spend 10 times the amount of the budget required on the film. Stick only to historic events, do not try to be original.
Actresses: Make yourself ugly, gain weight and do everything unwomanly in a way that the movie justifies.
Actors: Get a handicap, disability, homosexual orientation, or an extraordinary ability which makes you abnormal and misunderstood.
Everyone else: Just take part in one of the above movies. Since movies are nominated, and win in sweeps, just hope and pray.
Anyways, of all the movies I saw this year, one movie came across to me as perfectly clean, well written and entertaining to watch. Anyone heard of "Millions"?

Isn't that the one with the kid who finds Irish money and has like a week to spend it all before they convert to euros?

Yes, but it's pounds. I take it you've read reviews of it...
