    Resolved [RESOLVED] installation error

    hi guys.. i dunno where to post this thread so i just posted it here.. anyway, i tried installing microsoft visual studio 6.0 but i always get the error:

    Setup was unable to create a DCOM user account in order to register ‘C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Tools\VS-Ent98\Vanalyzr\valec.exe”

    what does this mean and how can i fix it? thanks in advance...

    Microsoft has been expunging a lot of old KB articles from their support site lately for no good reason at all and that link looks like another casualty. Fortunately, the Wayback Machine managed to archive various versions of that KB article over several years. Here's the most recent version they've saved from 2015.
