All over it, comes out Thursday. I was dissappointed with the demo though, the graphics etc are awesome, but the sound sucked! Good thing is, they released a mod kit early - so it won't take long for a good mod to come out. I play desert combat and desert combat extended mostly - the dcx team is already working on a mod - rising conflicts.
That will probably be the quickest and best mod, hopefully they change the sound!

    Wow...

P4 2.5GHz or equivalent, 1GB RAM and a 256MB video card are the recommended spec.

NotMe......I can barely handle the minimum spec:

The minimum spec is a Pentium 4 1.7GHz or equivalent, 512MB RAM and a 128MB video card.

I have a copy of Dune 2 if anyone wants a go. It runs on a 386 if you have the right mouse drivers.

Do you have the newest graphics drivers installed? If so, try to uninstall them in safe mode (if you have Catalyst drivers) then use DC, might work for NVIDIA too, but havn't checked), then install them again after restarting your computer. Then restart your computer again, and try the game again.

    Re: Battlefield 2

Guy here played it with his current drivers and thought it was good.
Then installed the new and improved drivers with the game... his performance was worse.

I'm waitin a few months till they get all the wiggles out.

But I might still kill this guy.
    Merry Christmas

    Re: Battlefield 2

I had some stability problems with BF2 and world of warcraft after installing the beta nVidia drivers that came with the game. I installed the final 77.74 drivers that just came out last night and everything seems fine now so far.

To be fair, installing nVidia drivers on Linux is a pain in the butt compared to installing on Windows. Most users would rather deal with a couple reboots than shutting down X installing, hand editing xorg.conf with all your display modes and other stuff, and restarting X.

Isn't recompiling the kernel recursive? Isn't the kernel running at the time?

You can probably tell I know Null about Linux

    Re: Battlefield 2

Hehe..yeah it is. So you have to restart the machine to get the other one too work. And then you have 2 kernels, and then you can boot from the new one, and then delete the old one......
