Angry Give sensible thread titles, please

How I hate when I see threads like 'Help', 'Can you answer this ?', 'Urgent', 'I don't know why it is not working, 'I need help', 'Question', 'I am stumpped', 'Its not working' etc etc etc etc.

It would be much more better if people would place specific thread titles. After all, we visit this forum to get help, to ask question, when we are stumped, when it is urgent, when we are looking for somebody to aswer our question :

Re: Give sensible thread titles, please

I agree. Titles like these tend to turn people away:

    I'm a noob
    hmmmmm
    Problem
    Noobie Help
    Grrrrrr
    What's going on!!!
    Help Please!
    Help with code

If you give a general idea on the problem in your title and try to be as specific yet brief as possible, then more people who are able to solve your problem will be happy to help you out. Here are some good examples:

Command button is not working right
How do I rotate an image?
Copying one text file into another
    Problem with collision detection
    My program is crashing
    Direct Memory Addressing
How do I Fillmemory in Words and Quads?

There are quite a few posters that think we are clairvoyant and can diagnose "help, it wont working" out of thin air, without even offering any clues at all, code samples are a luxury. Some people just don't think.

I think the human race needs to trim the herd somewhat.

Am I the only one suspecting that certain people in this thread may be talking to themselves?

    I have one.

"It Broke, Fix it for Me."

I personally love peeps who ask same questions almost exactly w/o searching. I search prior to all posts. I always seems to have something slightly different, but 80% of my q's are all solved by previous posts.

Why wait. You can start now:

    www.angelfire.com/fl5/memorydll/index.html

I made these, but they are far from complete. I'm currently developing an actual 3D engine I can work with so my code isn't so cluttered. That and a Dance Dance Revolution clone. Also try this for a tutorial:

If you tried it sometime, you'll know why

Try out my R-Type3D game as an example. It's gonna blow your mind that VB is even capable of that.

Your computer won't be the same after trying his game. That's how great DirectX is.

Try moving the mouse around for freelooking camera, the numpad keys to move the camera around like a FPS, the arrow keys to move the ship around, spacebar for firing, and Esc to quit the program.

    [Post][Title]New To VB[Title]
    Help with me with code.
I want to do something, which I can't seem to do
This problem is really frustrating me
Please Look at my code, and fill in everything for me, I am new to VB and I don't know what to do!

    Code:
    'I want to do something
    'Please help
    [/Post]
There was a time, long, long a go when a guy named Hannes du Preez ( Hey! That's me!! ) knew anything and everything concerning programming technologies. Since, he has had a burn-out, got married and had kids ( and puppies - do not forget the puppies ), and our friend Hannes has turned grey, almost bald, and most importantly, his belly grew substantially! He also experienced problems with his hands.
Now, Hannes said to himself: "Learn new things! If you do not learn new things and accept the changes in technology, you will become stuck in the same gear!"
So, our friend, Hannes ( the unsung hero - once ) has stumbled upon the awesomeness which is mobile programming, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 8. Thus far, he has done good - he even has a bunch of articles on them - with the hopes that maybe one day, he'll find his dream job.
Besides trying to program PCs., AVR devices, and mobile devices he likes writing poetry, short stories, novels, songs, and tries his hand at art; even though his wife is a far better painter and sculptor... Moral of the story: Forgive him for not always getting it right, he is after all just human, and he has accepted his faults; but, at least he is trying! Perhaps if he would think asked questions properly through, he'd get all his answers right... Forgive him as well for being grumpy at times, as his neuro-pathways are still a bit scrambled...

I've been programming with VB for 17 years. Started with VB4 16bit Pro, VB5 Pro, VB6 Pro/Enterprise and now VB3 Pro. But I'm no expert, I'm still learning.
