Give sensible thread titles, please
How I hate when I see threads like 'Help', 'Can you answer this ?', 'Urgent', 'I don't know why it is not working, 'I need help', 'Question', 'I am stumpped', 'Its not working' etc etc etc etc.
It would be much more better if people would place specific thread titles. After all, we visit this forum to get help, to ask question, when we are stumped, when it is urgent, when we are looking for somebody to aswer our question :

Re: Give sensible thread titles, please
I agree. Titles like these tend to turn people away:
I'm a noob
hmmmmm
Problem
Noobie Help
Grrrrrr
What's going on!!!
Help Please!
Help with code
If you give a general idea on the problem in your title and try to be as specific yet brief as possible, then more people who are able to solve your problem will be happy to help you out. Here are some good examples:
Command button is not working right
How do I rotate an image?
Copying one text file into another
Problem with collision detection
My program is crashing
Direct Memory Addressing
How do I Fillmemory in Words and Quads?

What do you mean imagine? Its like that already.
There are quite a few posters that think we are clairvoyant and can diagnose "help, it wont working" out of thin air, without even offering any clues at all, code samples are a luxury. Some people just don't think.
I think the human race needs to trim the herd somewhat.
I don't live here any more.

I guess they think that everyone has their own copy of ActiveX Brain Widgets that includes the MindMeld OCX.

I have one.
"It Broke, Fix it for Me."
I personally love peeps who ask same questions almost exactly w/o searching. I search prior to all posts. I always seems to have something slightly different, but 80% of my q's are all solved by previous posts.

Well,
at least they've stopped posting those "One for the Gurus" or "Gurus Only" threads that were most popular a few years back.

You need to post more often. 2 years, and only 50 non chit chat posts to show for it.

Why wait. You can start now:
www.angelfire.com/fl5/memorydll/index.html
I made these, but they are far from complete. I'm currently developing an actual 3D engine I can work with so my code isn't so cluttered. That and a Dance Dance Revolution clone. Also try this for a tutorial:

If you tried it sometime, you'll know why
Try out my R-Type3D game as an example. It's gonna blow your mind that VB is even capable of that.

Your computer won't be the same after trying his game. That's how great DirectX is.

Re: Give sensible thread titles, please
Try moving the mouse around for freelooking camera, the numpad keys to move the camera around like a FPS, the arrow keys to move the ship around, spacebar for firing, and Esc to quit the program.

I've been programming with VB for 25 years. Started with VB4 16bit Pro, VB5 Pro, VB6 Pro/Enterprise and now VB3 Pro. But I'm no expert, I'm still learning.
