Calling another PC with Skype
okay i installed skype, but when I tried to call someone on another computer it just sounded extremely crackly. Like unbearably crackly. I couldn't hear the other person and they couldn't hear me. Has anyone used skype? or does anyone know anything easier/better?

Re: Calling another PC with Skype
I use Skype, it is the BEST. I just had a 2 hours discussion with a friend in Australia the other day. And it sounded like he was in the same room as me. One problem is that if one of you have to little bandwith, then you will have a slow down (delay). But the qulaity will remain the same.
Check what drivers are set up for your mic and sound card in skype. Like if I am using DirectShow or anyting, then I can't hear ****. Or if it uses TotalRecorder or any other app to process the sound. I have to use the original C-Media drivers to run it smooth. The same goes for apps like QT and so on.
