dvd ripping software
I have home movies (yes they're actually home movies and not real dvds) and I want to put them back on the computer. What software do I need to rip it back to the hard drive? Im sure theres some free ones around?

Re: dvd ripping software
- You can use SmartRipper to get the data off the DVD
- You can use DVD2AVI to convert from DVD format to any codec format (I recommend getting and using XviD)
- Then, last of all, you can use VirtualDub to finalize your hard work: include audio to the video (get LAME ACM to have a nice, good quality MP3 sound), using full processing mode for audio, and copy video as-is if you don't want to manipulate the video in any way
Hope this helps
