    Question

Would there be a way to get the internal temperature, fan rpm etc using the API or any other way with VB?

Proabably not (and it's not all that useful) but still, it's pretty interesting. And it would prove that VB can be used for -anything.-

    Wink

    You can.
    Follow the steps below:

    • Stick a temperature-measuring hardware by HP in your fan...
    • Get appropriate software for it.
    • Read through a 1 centillion pages of manuals and figure it out.

Otherwise, NO, of course, it's not that way...like YOUR COMPUTER can't make a nuclear bomb Auto-explode

Well this may surprise you but the CPU can read it's own temperature usualy. There's a lot of program out there that can allow you to get an insane amount of stats on your CPU.
    Oro?

    Smile Developer Needs Assistance

This site has been one of the best sites for code and most informative forum site.

I am in a bit of a jam at the moment though.

I have been developing a program called 'Log It'

this program will log system crashes and record resources and applications that were running at the time.

I have been asked to include CPU Temperature in the log. I have extensive knowledge in API calls but do not know of any that could assist me with this.

If someone knows the API call to send to the generic Hardware Monitor Chipset. it would be great.

please email me if you can help...

    Thanks
