    Resolved Password Protection

    HI!!

    How can I PASSWORD PROTECT folders or subfolders in <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=Windows&v=56">Windows</a> XP.

    With Windows XP Home, you'll need some program, but if you have Windows XP Professional, right-click the file/folder -> click Properties -> Advanced... -> Check Encrypt contents to secure data -> OK, OK.

    Now only your account will be able to access that folder. Then make sure that you assign a password to your account.
    I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

    If I remember correctly you can also use the cacls application under XP Home...
