    Plane Tickets (US)

Im planning on going to north carolina(greensboro) from new jersey(newark) in october to visit some old friends from school. When is the best time to order tickets? Last month they were around $212, but I just checked now and its around $179. I've never bought airline tickets, hell i've only been on a plane 3 times. How early should I buy?

I have always thought the earliest you buy the cheaper it gets, have you tried different airlines? and how about trying to schedule the flight on weekdays/weekends....

Or you can spend 6 hours driving =)

    EDIT

Oh yea, forgot to mention this:
Why in gods name would you wish to come to NC willingly? I should probably check how far greensboro is from where I live ( Apex ) I think they are both in Wake County.

I would drive, you need your car in NC!

Strangely enough, that isn't always the case, sometimes they do get more expensive, but then may drop if the flight doesn't fill, just so that they aren't empty seat/miles. It's a crap shoot though. Look for specials, fly a regional airline, and not one of the "bigguns" (Like American, Delta, United)....Think Southwest, Jet Blue, or even Frontier.

I thought it was earliest the best, but continental has dropped their price since a few weeks ago. heh well then i guess now's the time to buy.

    yep.

already took the psat lol it was annoying enough. and this year i get to do the real thing - sarcasm smiley.

but next year i get to go to the career center and take college level CS course... Computer Science AB

either that or take 1 year of CIS.. computer information systems....which covers a broad area of stuff, some programming too.

The PSAT is a joke. It tells you nothing. It told me I'd score 200 points lower than I actually did. heh I took the CS AB without studying haha, we did nothing all year. Woops. Took the java A this year and destroyed it. Don't think i'm going to use my credit for that or calculus though.

i mean if Im taking 4 calculus classes in college I want to make sure I have a good base in calc 1. And hey it also means a little easier time in calc 1

actually i think i will use my java credit, my computer science class is scheduled for 8:30....screw that haha

ah....maybe he is going on a senior citizen program to get something out of life besides playing golf and mowing his grass?

states CS department is huge...........that and the fact that my cousin just got into state are the only reasons i'd consider it. Not sure i want to be a programmer anymore though Unless i come up with some great idea that i can start a company for and make money off of it....i'd be a desk jockey for some suits. Contract programming doesn't sound very promising or steady.

am I supposed to be coherent in this post or in the next?

justin case, let me post the complete lyrics of chiquitita from ABBA

    Chiquitita, tell me what’s wrong
You’re enchained by your own sorrow
In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow
How I hate to see you like this
There is no way you can deny it
I can see that you’re oh so sad, so quiet

    Chiquitita, tell me the truth
I’m a shoulder you can cry on
Your best friend, I’m the one you must rely on
You were always sure of yourself
    Now I see you’ve broken a feather
I hope we can patch it up together

    Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they’re leaving
You’ll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
    Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita

So the walls came tumbling down
And your love’s a blown out candle
All is gone and it seems too hard to handle
    Chiquitita, tell me the truth
There is no way you can deny it
I see that you’re oh so sad, so quiet

    Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they’re leaving
You’ll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
    Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
    Sing a new song, chiquitita
