    Remove the nuisance Password box?

My dad's b***h of a girlfriend has moved my PC downstairs and now has a password box on Windows startup.

How can i remove this password box, im not hacking, im just claiming my Windows back.

Appreciate the help on either changing her password, removing her name or removing the whole dialog.

    Thanks

you could try control panel->user accounts-> change an account->pick the account and then click change password. But if you are not able to log on because she has a password on there im not sure what you could do to bipass the password protection.

    Win98 Se Dude,

Also she keeps changing my Zone Alarm settings, so i password protected it but she always gets me to type the code in front of my dad, is it at all possible to hide the Zone Alarm icon from the system tray?

    Thanks

If the password box is not letting you log in then you should be able to bypass that by booting into safe mode, and changing the password, or remove it all together.

Look for .PWL files and delete the one associated with the username.

Or, you could kill her and use her hair as a pillow.

In Windows 98, isnt the ESC key sufficant?

If you want to get the password, upload the pwl file and i'll give you the password.

    Set the bios password.

or just copy the c:\boot.ini file onto a floppy and delete the one on the hd. MAKE SURE YOU ARE SET TO BOOT OFF THE FLOPPY IN THE BIOS. (Then you can tell them that the computer is broken)

    Also checkout poledit

As someone mentioned before, delete all .pwl files. That'll stop it

Click Control Panel, and then double-click the Network icon.

On the Configuration tab, click to select Windows Logon in the Primary Network Logon box, and then click OK.

When you are prompted to restart your computer, click No.

    Double-click Passwords in control panel.

(NOTE: If you cancel the network logon dialog box when you first start your computer, the Change Passwords tab may not be available. You must logon so the Change Passwords tab will be available. )

Click the Change Passwords tab, click Change Windows Password, click to select any check box items you want to be included in the change, and then click OK.

In the Change Windows Password dialog box, type your current Windows password in the Old Password box. Leave the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes blank, click OK, and then click OK.

NOTE: If you have forgotten your old password, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
Q189126 Microsoft's Policy Regarding Missing or Invalid Passwords

    reboot computer.

No it's in the Passwords applet in the Control Panel.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)
