basically, they give you some webspace for storage (not webpages). you can access it throught the webbrowser so you can dl to any internet connected computer. Convenient for if you're tired of using floppy disks and such when doing consultations and stuff.

BTW, this is what I've heard, I've never used an internet storage "solution".

I could be totally wrong here but I do belive it's only storing data on a drive other than your own.

Someone gives or sells you space and you store your data offsight.

Ie..if your hard drive crashes your data is not lost and if you only have a 3 or 4 gig drive you can store up 10 gig or whatever the allowance is so technically it increases your drive space without you having to buy a bigger drive.

    They're a waste of space.

http://www.idrive.com is quite good, and a neat trick with it is, if you want to download something from a slow site, "sideload" it to your space, then get it faster from there...

    DiGiTaIErRoR:

    I just had a harddrive crash..lost 3.4 G of mp3 files
Over 1000....wish I had them on that wasted space so I could just get them back with the flip of a switch....

I have loads of mp3s...mostly downloaded, but quite a few are from CD. I have them mainly because you can't FIND them on CD anywhere!

    DiGiTaIErRoR: or is it (A$%H*&%)

    I didn't rip anyone off.
I have over 300 CD's and I had just converted them over to MP3 files so I could convert my CD Collection down to 50 or so Various Artists Cd's.

Perhaps you should keep your character assinations to yourself until you know what you are talkin about.
