Does anybody know how to send a LVM_GETITEMPOSITION message to the desktop, without explorer crashing?
Thanks to a tip I found, I got this working on win95/98, but winnt still crashes.
The problem is that when I send a LVM_GETITEMPOSITION message to the syslistview32 part of the desktop, explorer causes a gpf in comctl32.dll. I created a memory mapped file for the returnvalue, and this works on win9x. Explorer doesn't crash anymore. But windows NT is a bit more difficult to please. I tried allocating a global memory block, but this doesn't work either. I'm starting to get out of ideas. If anyone has one, I'm interested. If there are other ways to get the position of the desktop icons, I would like to hear them as well.
