Question What screen resolution do you use?

I'm just wondering which screen res is most common these days.
I write most of my apps at 640x480 so that they resize ok to the higher resolutions.
Aww screw it. I didn't really want to fool with it anymore anyhow.

I voted 1024x768, but I do want to add that another computer of mine is using 800x600, and the third is using 1280x1024

I agree with using 640x480 as a starting point though, better safe than sorry

I have a laptop myself, and the laptop's TFT screen will only do up to 1024*768 itself, so when I'm at home etc. I use that resolution. But when I'm in work, I've a big 17" monitor on my desk, so I use 1280*1024 there

Home: 15" Monitor running at 1280*1024
Work: 21" Monitor running at 1600*lots (graphic card can't support any higher )

In case you hadn't guessed, I like plenty of on-screen real estate to work with....

My screen can only support up to 1024x768... I can do up to 1600x?, but I have to use a virtual desktop... which is pointless =).

Another reason I'm wondering is cause I see alot of apps written in, say, 1024x768 that work fine at that res or higher, but when you go to 800x600 or lower with one of these then some controls etc. are off the screen cause the developer(s) didn't add proper resize code. Ok thanks everyone. I think I'll continue to write apps at 640x480 rather than try to add code to detect resolution etc. - at higher resolutions the controls are tiny but at least they're there...........

i'm currently running mine at 1600x1200 and i make my apps specifically to run at that res, u c i and all the ppl i distribute my apps to (ie my local's) run at 1600x1200 or higher (Cocky little turds with their Ge-Force's), so i have no need to run programs at 640x480, thats just ugly
