  1. Re: VB6 PDFium-Binding (Viewing + Text- and ImageExports)

What I mean is the OLDER version available is for Office 2013 and it doesn't include the Imaging Tools.
The last one with MODI is for Office 2007 and MS link simply "disappeared".
    I was hoping that...
  2. Re: VB6 PDFium-Binding (Viewing + Text- and ImageExports)

I think I tried from everywhere. All I could get is for Office 2013.
I guess it's a no way road now.
    Thanks anyway.
  3. Re: VB6 PDFium-Binding (Viewing + Text- and ImageExports)

SharePoint Designer for Office 2007 is no long available. I was able to install MDI to TIFF though, and got mdi2tif.exe, mstfcore.dll, mstfink.dll, msptls.dll, and richedit20.dll inside Program...
  4. Re: VB6 PDFium-Binding (Viewing + Text- and ImageExports)

Well, I "googled" around and couldn't get an installer to download. What is that "officepack"?
All I could find was some tricky solutions from microsoft itself. Is there a simple solution to deploy...
  5. Re: VB6 PDFium-Binding (Viewing + Text- and ImageExports)

But one needs to have Microsoft Office, right?
  6. Re: VB6 PDFium-Binding (Viewing + Text- and ImageExports)

Nice job, and very useful :)
    Thank you

    Re: SQlite Close connection

There's no close method. I think you must set cnn to nothing to free it.

Shouldn't the method to receive the event in your test program be named TH_OnResponseFinished ?

    A few questions about ActCtx

I'm thinking about using Microsoft.Windows.ActCtx to replace my resource based manifest solution for SxS, but I have a couple of doubts.

As I use many OCXs/DLLs, including a few homemade, do I...
  11. Re: Help with improving my SQL query (SQLite)

I think I agree with techgnome.
What I see is identical tables with T1 not having a ParentGUID, and a typical case for a CTE.
  12. Re: VBFlexGrid Control (Replacement of the MSFlexGrid control)

    Perfect, thank you :)
  13. Re: VBFlexGrid Control (Replacement of the MSFlexGrid control)

Are you sure that the keys Home and End should end the edit mode?
I don't know if it's the standard behavior but seems strange to me. Imo these keys should put the cursor in the start/end of the...
  14. Re: The 1001 questions about vbRichClient5 (2019-02-03)

    Perfect, thanks

I also use a global image list for menus and toolbar buttons with Codejock commandbars and it's handy for this matter when one knows what will be needed in the whole app.

    I...

    Re: Simple vbRichClient Drawing Problem

By looking at some Olaf code i saw he does it this way:

    If Len(FileName) Then...

  17. Re: The 1001 questions about vbRichClient5 (2019-02-03)

@dreammanor, sorry to pull in to ask my own question to Olaf but it's somewhat related.

    @Olaf,

I don't want to argue again about your vision of a global ImageList but I too would like to be...

    Re: Simple vbRichClient Drawing Problem

I see nothing wrong in the code. Probably you are displaying the original image before drawLogo (W_Paint ??)

    vbRichClient cCairoSurface

I'm trying to show a svg inside a widget, using cCairoSurface.

Set Image = Cairo.CreateSurface(Width, Height, SVGSurface, Source), where Source is the svg file

    Inside W_Paint I have

    My bad, sorry Archie
  22. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

Yup. They follow the clever way, imo, by intercepting API calls and redirecting them to their own libraries. Lot's of work, but potentially it can work in every OS.
  23. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

@Eduardo, I don't disagree with you about WebApps. It's maybe the future, but what you should "extract" from what I said is that Windows isn't for sure. MS is making too many people hungry with their...
  24. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

According to my tests everything works. I have an application made with Visual Objects (Win32) that uses lots of 3rd party components (some home made VB6 DLLs and OCXs, FP Spread, Active Reports 2,...
  25. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

I suppose "Linux is the language of the future" was a typo and you meant "Linux is the OS of the future".

I believe it is. It's the OS for servers for a long time, and the desktop is almost there....
  26. Re: The ScrollBar Events in cwScrollBar (vbRichClient5)

@Arnoutdv, I'm with dreammanor on this.
He always put a (vbRichClient5) in the subject so it's very easy to ignore them. In fact I follow all of them even if the interest is not immediate. Lots of...

  28. Re: Does RC5.Cairo have a function equivalent to DrawText(DT_CALCRECT)? (vbRichClient

It still amazes me what one can do with such a tiny library, always in a simple way. :thumb:
And it puzzles me why some clever and skilled VB6'ers don't give it a chance.
  29. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

And these things would probably be in VB6 along with some other, like 64bit, if they didn't decide to turn things into a wrong direction.
And probably MS would have now a word to say in the mobile...
  30. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

@Shaggy, you call it progress and moving forward. I call it correction of a big mistake. And I mean BIG.
  31. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

The problem is that you can't simply "don't use it". And it's big, really big. Enormous and useless, and it's development meant that nothing else was properly progressed since. So, I think I can say...
  32. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

Two friends were talking about their own success.

What I can say about your post is that I don't...
  33. Re: FontAwesome-SVG-Resources (per vbRichClient5)

Yes, that was the case and easy to see, but I was using long values directly, so it wasn't that obvious.
Sorry if I didn't reply before, and thanks again for your help.
  34. Re: FontAwesome-SVG-Resources (per vbRichClient5)

I don't use the RGB function from Visual Objects, everything is done in VB6.

If I put in the database the long value calculated by your ColorPicker the color displayed is the right one, which...
  35. Re: FontAwesome-SVG-Resources (per vbRichClient5)

How can I change the function GetPicture to accept the color as a long RGB?
    Thanks
  36. Re: FontAwesome-SVG-Resources (per vbRichClient5)

Never mind, I found it. I used your color selector to find that number
  37. Re: FontAwesome-SVG-Resources (per vbRichClient5)

@Olaf, I hope you can help me with this one.

I'm still using the same CJ TaskPanel with svg icons from FontAwesome. I have an integer field in a sqlite table where a store the colors to paint the...
  38. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

I think I understand what you mean. That's maybe why some people dislike OO.
I see OO as a useful feature, but not like java or C# (ab)use it.
  39. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

Ok, that's basically how I use OO, and the "10+" levels could then make some sense, depending on the subject.
For example, it doesn't make sense to create a window with 3 buttons from scratch if you...
  40. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

Levels? What levels? Are you talking about that ridiculous.java.crap.that.was.copied.by.dot.net.just.to.save.code.lines.and.turn.things.unreadable?
