    Dreammanor, after testing a bit Nimcomsoft, with some work, it will be a very good replacement for MODI.
    It can even recognize QRCode & BarCode, wich is great.

    Just took a a look to Nimcomsoft OCR.
    It is free, and works very well in VB6.

    I tested it and I think I'll go deeper.
    It seems a very very good alternative to MODI in my case

    Yes, there is no newest version.
    When isntalling it, just install the Imaging part, and no need for the remaining

    My actual homemade PDF viewer is very powerfull, and based on MODI.
    I export everything to JPG, then open and manage with MODI, including OCR,...
