Adding a domain user to a domain group

I need to Add a Domain User to a Domain Group (that I manage).

I want to do it programmatically as I have about 300 or so users to add. I also want to simplify maintenance as adding future users...

Re: Setting file and folder permissions

I got the following to work (in that it didn't reset existing modified permissions).

I'm not an expert, but it appears the distinction might be in creating the DirectorySecurity object. If done...

Re: Setting file and folder permissions

Okay, yes, this is great. Two questions though.

First, it appears when you Add a "Rule", several of the settings specified apply to the folder and not the UserAccount.

    For example, I manually...
  5. Re: Creating shared folders and specifying share permissions

You are correct (and that application looks so much easier). Thanks.
  6. Re: Creating shared folders and specifying share permissions

It looks like the permission list is passed in when the folder is shared...

Any way to view/modify permissions to an existing share on a remote server?

I have about 300 users I need to add to 6...
  7. Text -vs- Value property of ASP DropDownList and ListBox controls

I'm confused. I think this is a bug, but maybe I just don't understand.

The basic problem is if I specify a Value property for items in either a DropDownList or a ListBox control - I can not...
  8. Select statement syntax for a linked JET table

First let me apologize for this not being directly a VB question, however I hope to find an answer and that the answer may help others.

    I have a .JET database. I have a Program table with a P_ID...

Re: sort only a specific node in a treeview

I think the difference is I did File, New Website, as opposed to File, New Project, ASP.NET Web Application. My apologies for previously calling it a Web Application - apparently it's not.

Re: sort only a specific node in a treeview

Aside from the Module issues - I got something working. Worst case this code can manually be used whenever one needs to sort the ChildNodes of a TreeNode.

I'm still curious about public subs and...

Re: sort only a specific node in a treeview

I'm now developing an intranet version of my app using VB2010 and ASP 4.0.

Would this same approach work for a Web Control TreeNode?

If so, what would be the equivalent file type for the...
  14. Re: VB.NET 2008 32bit app compatibility with 64bit systems

    Ugh. Okay.

I wrote a separate tool to take JET into Oracle, which I can then query from my x64 AddIn. Ugly but the task is done.

Thanks for the help guys - saved time in the end...
  15. Re: VB.NET 2008 32bit app compatibility with 64bit systems

Ooo, that could be powerful! Ima try to make that work.

Hopefully talking to x86 Excel from a x64 application wont be problematic. We'll see.
  16. Re: VB.NET 2008 32bit app compatibility with 64bit systems

    Thanks for the clarification.

Too bad the x64 ACE OLE DB provider isn't available separately.

I'm trying to get several thousand points into a CAD tool and then work with them programmatically....
  17. Re: VB.NET 2008 32bit app compatibility with 64bit systems

I'm having the same issue with the JET database driver not being registered, however I can not work around it with x86 as the code I'm developing is used as an AddIn in a x64 Application, thus it...

Re: sort only a specific node in a treeview

Re: sort only a specific node in a treeview

This appears to be a slick way to sort a treenode before you add it to an treeview.

Any way to sort a treenode after it's part of a treeview?

Thank You! You answered questions much bigger than the one I asked. :)
  25. Re: Pressing enter clicks button-probably very simple
