  1. Re: Double to String performance issue

Unfortunately, in my case I can't predict how long a string will be.
    But thanks for the info.

I now write 2 files, 1x strings, 1x Dbl data.

    Works very ok now.
It is only for temporary data,...

Re: CommonControls (Replacement of the MS common controls)

When I began using VBCCR I experienced 'unexplainable' crashes as well.
    But I didn't give up...

In some scenarios the IDE failed to write the .frx files correctly.
It took me some time to find...
  3. Re: Double to String performance issue

It is fast only when the UDT holds one datatype only (Dbl in this case).
When there are strings in the UDT, the performance breaks down totally.

But doesn't matter in my case.
  4. Re: Double to String performance issue

    I didn't know that.

Yes, that's ultra fast, exactly as wanted.
    Fine.

    Solved.
    Thanks to all of you!
  5. Re: Double to String performance issue

    Join is a good idea.

Tested it, and the result is similar to the CStr method.
Seems Join does a type conversion internally...

So Join is also not good.
  6. Re: Double to String performance issue

    I did further tests.
    VarBstrFromR8 ist the fastest.
    Thanks for the hint.

    Still not very fast.
And the string concatenation is also not fast.

    I have another idea:
I could copy all my data to...
  7. Re: Double to String performance issue

    Not so bad.
    See attached.
    171803

Based on Method 0, I get the fastest result with VarBstrFromR8.

    But still not super duper.
  8. [RESOLVED] Double to String performance issue

    Hi all

I have a large UDT array.
It holds Double values, and I need the values as strings.
    Along with a delimiter etc.

This is far to slow as it is now.

I tested 3 different methods to get...

That's now logical to me, because the list gets populated before the UC can read the property.
